ITE, the first Windows^® CE System Integrator authorized by Microsoft in the Asia Pacific region, will exhibit a host of highly integrated solutions for Windows^® CE-based operating platforms and I/O chipsets at the upcoming five-day Computex Taipei ‘99, slated from 6/1 through 6/5.

The exhibit is expected to attract industry professionals worldwide. The exhibit of ITE’s new Windows^® CE platforms and I/O chipsets will be the first of its kind, either in local or in global scale. It is a show that you can’t miss.

To comply with the new generation Intel chipsets that support LPC interface, ITE has proudly unveiled the two LPC I/O chipsets—IT8712/IT8702. These two chipsets have competitively integrated the latest Environment Control initiatives, such as the Hardware Monitor and Smart Card Reader interface. ITE envisions the LPC I/O chipsets will play a key role in the I/O market, and launches the two new IT8712/IT8702 LPC I/O chipsets, boasting the exceptionally competitive product functions and prices. With these two chipsets, ITE is aggressive at gaining leading stance in the LPC I/O market.

The PCI-to-ISA Bridge Controller, IT8888 by ITE, has won the recognition of international big name PC manufacturers, who have integrated the IT8888 on the new generation PC and put an end to the customer complaint on using the ISA device.

Another two I/O chipsets, IT8673 and IT8693, have successfully integrated the enhanced functions of Hardware Monitor and Fan Speed Control in a 128-pin single chipset, making ITE’s “SmartGuardian” function the indispensable intelligent function for every personal computer. With competitive pricing and innovative functions, ITE believes that the IT8673 and IT8693 will grab away the ISA I/O markets dominated by other competitors.

With the view of the Venus project that Microsoft launched in Mainland China, ITE presents the chipsets specifically designed for Venus as well as the Turn key design platform. Venus is a dedicated set-top box (STB) running Windows CE, and is the first TV STB dedicated for Chinese market from Microsoft. Venus aims Internet access, education, and entertainment markets. Using the TV screen as the monitor, Venus enables users to browse through the Internet, play games, watching SVCD/DVD and can run Windows CE-based software, such as MS WORD, Paint, etc.

For the Windows^® CE embedded applications market, ITE’s versatile motherboard solution -- IH6080 – is able to support a wide range of embedded applications, including POS (Point of Sales), WBT (Windows Based Terminal) and IPC (Industry PC). The IH6080 uses the most advanced 7709A/133MHZ in the Hitachi SH3 series along with ITE LCD/VGA controller and I/O chipsets.

Through the Computex Taipei ‘99, ITE is eager to show its ambition in becoming a technology leader in Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry in the APAC region as well as in the international arena.
