As the newest member of ITE’s Windows® CE Reference Design, the platform Builder Reference Design (PBRD) 2.12 provides OEMs and System Integrators a Design that can be taken to mass production or used as reference design for OEM customization. The goal is simple: To enable OEM and SI to leverage on ITE’s valuable expertise on Windows® CE; OEM and SI can deploy their added-value at various application level based on the solid and proven foundation laid out by ITE’s Reference Design.
With Hitachi’s powerful SH7709A CPU, ITE’s IT8181 LCD/VGA controller, and IT8661/IT8673 peripheral I/O chips, PBRD 2.12 delivers high performance, high display quality, cost effectiveness, compact, flexibility to expand, and proven solution to Windows® CE Vertical applications and Embedded devices.
Coming with this Reference Platform, ITE also provides Reference Package, which contains Board schematic, BOM, Device drivers, Programming guide and Utilities which can help OEM and SI to modify or customize it as necessary.

As PBRD 2.12 drives the standardization of the embedded computers in a variety of vertical markets, it provides ready-to-use platform solution for such as WBT (Windows-based Terminal), POS (Point of Sales) and Information Appliance (IA) applications.
Steven Huang, the vice president of the ITE expressed that he is very optimistic about the prospect of this highly integrated platform.
