Taipei, Taiwan, April, 28, 1998--Integrated Technology Express, Inc. (ITE) the first Windows^® CE System Integrator (SI) authorized by Microsoft^® in the Asia Pacific Region will exhibit its highly integrated solutions for Windows CE-based operating platforms at the upcoming Win CE HEC and Win HEC 98 Taipei, from April 28-30. The seminar, organized by Microsoft Taiwan is expected to attract industry professionals worldwide.

ITE’s exhibit of its new Windows CE platforms will be the first of its kind on a local or global scale. It is a show that you can’t miss.

ITE, an SI, will display its complete Intelligent Peripheral Controller (IPC) product lines specifically designed for Windows CE platforms. The displays include the self-developed standard Windows CE platform. The platform uses Hitachi’s SH7709 CPU, which pairs with ITE’s IT8101 companion chip. The IT8101 is the industry’s first chipset solution for the Windows CE platform, which supports CRT and Single Scan STN LCD displays. The IT8101 also provides all the required peripheral functions, including keyboard, touch panel, IrDA, UART, audio and PCMCIA.

Users can perform the Windows CE H/W and S/W system evaluation by customizing the standard Windows CE platform to use in Windows CE diverse vertical applications, such as Set-Top Boxes, family-user computer control system, game ports and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). All of these applications are ideal for system development, and are highly recommended for Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. The market promises substantial benefits for vendors interested in Windows CE-based platform development in Taiwan.

Certified last year by Microsoft and the only Windows CE SI in the Asia Pacific Region and Taiwan, ITE created an SI Division to facilitate Windows CE integration. ITE is dedicated to providing complete and highly integrated H/W and S/W solutions for OEMs interested in Windows CE product development. Moreover, ITE has invested a great deal in its S/W development for Chinese-version Windows CE platforms.
